In God's Eye - Are You Disposable? - Author Unknown

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200 people, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."

He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty; like any other piece of rubbish. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20."

We are all used to things being disposable - we throw tons of items away daily when we're finished with them. Sadly, people treat others as if they were disposable too.

But you see..for God, no one is disposable. In the Bible we're told that at the end of the world everything that is wrong and evil will be like rubbish. It will be thrown away and destroyed.

However God does not want a single person to be lost when the evil rubbish of the world is burned. He is patiently waiting for us to allow him to clean us up and put us right. No one is rubbish in God's sight.

The minister took the crumpled note and began to smooth it out. "This is what God wants to do for us: smooth out the hurts were other people have rejected us and sort out the wrong things we have done. Then He wants to take us into His eternal life in Heaven. For God, no one is disposable."

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value in God's eyes. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless.

God is a loving God and does not look at us as the world sometimes does. People sometimes respect us because of our bank statement and not our heart statement. But God wants us to forget about the treasures of this earth and think about His treasure which is Eternal. II Corinthians 4:18 says, "While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Keep this in mind: The worth of our lives comes not from what we do or who we are, but by whose we are! People may reject us, but God will not. You are special - Don't ever forget that!
